2.13. Monitor Configuration

On the Configure Monitor screen, enter your monitor's settings for use with the X Window System.

Generally, the settings for your monitor are probed and retrieved automatically and there is no reason to change these. You should do so only if you are certain that the information you intend to enter is correct.

  1. Select your monitor from the list.

The Turbolinux installer should automatically fill in the fields labeled Horizontal Sync and Vertical Sync.

  2. If your monitor does not appear on the list, select Generic Monitor from the list and enter the Horizontal and Vertical Sync values in their appropriate fields at the bottom of the screen.

This information can be found in your monitor's user manual.

Caution

If the fields labeled Horizontal and Vertical Sync are filled in automatically by Turbolinux, you should not need to modify them. Furthermore, doing so can result in damage to your monitor.
