The loopback install method refers to installing Turbolinux FUJI on an existing FAT16 or FAT32 partition. This method creates in the FAT file system two files (linux.img and lin-swap.img), which will serve as the root and swap partitions of Linux, respectively. As long as there is free hard disk space sufficient for installing Turbolinux FUJI, you can create a dual-boot environment while retaining the Windows environment. To conduct loopback install, select loopback install as the installation destination (Section 3.6). Note that there are the following limitations on loopback install:
Only FAT16 and FAT32 file systems are supported. NTFS cannot be an installation destination.
Only a root partition can be created.
Only a root partition of 2GB or smaller can be created because the FAT file system cannot handle a file larger than 2GB.
A boot floppy is required to boot Turbolinux FUJI.
When you select loopback install, the following screen will come up.

Existing FAT partitions are displayed in a list. Select a partition on which to install Turbolinux FUJI and click the [Next] button.
When the [Loopback File Setup] screen opens, specify the sizes of the root and swap partitions. The sizes should be in megabytes.
After you complete the setup, click the [Next] button. Proceed to the next step, Section 3.8. The procedure hereafter is the same as the normal installation procedure.
