3.4. Keyboard Configuration

3.4.1. Basic

By default, the keyboard that matches the chosen language is selected. If necessary, change the default keyboard to the keyboard you want to use.

You can verify the operation of the selected keyboard using the text area on the bottom of the screen. Especially, confirm that symbols, such as "*|~^&+;[`=\@}, can be entered correctly.

3.4.2. Option

A keyboard that is not included in the [Basic] tab can be selected on the [Option] tab. Select a keyboard by specifying its model and layout. You can also specify the following options if necessary.

Enable dead keys

The dead key function allows you to enter special characters by combining multiple keys. By default, the dead keys are enabled. If necessary, disable them.

Swap capslock and control keys

You can select this option to exchange the [CapsLock] and [Ctrl] keys in an X window environment. To change the console key layout, directly edit the /etc/sysconfig/keyboard file after finishing installation.

Disable X keyboard

Use different key assignments for the console and the X Window System. Select this option to ignore the X Window System keyboard configuration and inherit the console configuration.

Tip

To change the keyboard configuration after installation, use the X Window System configuration tool (turboxcfg).
