3.3. Installation Method Selection

Select an installation method. Each installation method is outlined below.

Turbo Install (Recommended)

The installer configures most settings automatically. Therefore, when you set the root password and create general users, installation finishes. The installer also automatically configures partitions while checking free space on the hard disk. However, if the hard disk does not contain any free space required for installation, you need to configure partitions manually.

Caution

"Turbo Install" deletes all existing Linux partitions and automatically creates a new partition. If you want to leave a partition, you need to select "Standard Installation". Note that any Windows partitions are left undeleted. If the available free space is not sufficient, you need to configure partitions manually. See Section 3.14 to confirm the installer's automatic configuration.

Standard Installation

Select this option if you install Turbolinux FUJI manually while configuring detailed settings.

The explanation that follows assumes that "Standard Installation" is selected.
