Chapter 1. PowerDVD

PowerDVD is a software package allowing DVD-format media playback; it has been developed and is being sold by CyberLink Incorporated. The standard Windows version of the the product already has a large, international user base and the Linux version (Linux PowerDVD Version 3.0) is now being offered with Turbolinux FUJI. PowerDVD is a full-featured software DVD player bringing to Turbolinux FUJI such features as multi-lingual playback, simultaneous display of multiple subtitle text streams, multiple-angle playback, variable-speed playback, and two-channel Dolby sound. Further, in addition to playback from DVDs, PowerDVD is also capable of playing audio/video streams from files encoded in such formats as MPEG-1 and MPEG-2.
