Turbolinux 8 Server Supported Through January 2008

TOKYO, Japan - January 15, 2004 - Turbolinux Inc. today announced Turbolinux 8 Server, released October 2002, would be supported by the company through January 1st, 2008, more than five years beyond the initial release date. The move was made to encourage users of other operating system vendors to migrate to Turbolinux and feel assured knowing that they will have ongoing support once their system is installed. Turbolinux 8 Server does not have an annual licensing fee.

The company is also extending its global free installation support from the existing 60-day period to 90 days for customers who purchase the product on or before March 31, 2004. After that time, the installation support reverts back to 60 days.

The five-year support offering includes security patches, bug and package updates, which are accessible through the "Turbo Update" application. The forthcoming successor to Turbolinux 8 Server, which is due third quarter of 2004, will also include five years of support.

"As an OS vendor, Turbolinux believes that it is our responsibility to ensure enterprises and end users alike receive a reasonable amount of support. While other Linux and proprietary vendors limit the duration of support, we feel it is too important to limit" said Koichi Yano, president and COO of Turbolinux, Inc.

Turbolinux 8 Server is a high performance Linux server operating system that contains enterprise-level features and is optimized and priced for mid-range business server systems.
