Joshin Denki and Turbolinux set to sell Hanshin Tigers fans an eagerly-awaited original laptop. Initially limited to 1,000, country-wide sales begin March 26, 2005 at Joshin pitONE J&P stores. Pre-order sales begin today.
TOKYO, Japan - March 10, 2005 - Joshin Denki Co., Ltd., a leading electronic products distributor and Turbolinux, Inc., a global leader of Linux-based solutions, announced today the availability of a Hanshin Tigers authorized original laptop ? the "TigersPC", beginning March 26, 2005 at Joshin pitONE J&P stores across the country.

The "TigersPC" is an original model of Joshin Denki -- an advertising sponsor of the Hanshin Tigers, a team which celebrates its the 70th anniversary this year. Production will initially be limited to 1,000 units and one per month will be presented to the Hanshin Tigers' monthly most valuable player.

The laptop is the popular "B5" form factor with an attractive Hanshin Tigers theme. Equipped with an Athlon XP-M 1900+ CPU, 256 MB RAM and a CD/DVD-ROM drive, it is suitable for both business and home users.

The desktop sports a theme inspired by the Hanshin Tigers homegame uniform and runs Turbolinux's latest desktop OS, "Turbolinux Home" which debuted in stores in November, 2004 and includes the award-winning DVD playback software package "PowerDVD". Tigers fans will be delighted by the unique Tigers desktop.

"Turbolinux Home" allows beginning users to start the applications they want to use most, such as those allowing web browsing, email reading, online chat, image editing, postcard creation and video playback, with just one click. "Turbolinux Home" also allows users to enjoy these applications with the increased security and anti-junk mail measures that Linux affords.

Pre-ordering begins March 10, 2005 at the Joshin website (http://www.joshin.co.jp/). Normal sales begin March 26, 2005 at 90 Joshin pitONE J&P shops across the country.
